This orchestral model has a large body but a easily playable string length with quick access to the upper registers. After only two years, the instrument's sound has opened up considerably, and it delivers a warm and direct sound in all registers, with a massive low end.

This bass underwent extensive restoration work in Robbbie McIntosh's shop in 2005, which included shortening the neck (via scarf joint) to reduce the string length to 41.75"

Gael McKeon completely resored this bass in 2023, and carved a one-of-a-kind dragon head into the scroll.The bass is completely ebony free with a Gaiatone fingerboard and sonowood nut and saddle.
It has a loud, punchy, round, dark sound that is suitable for jazz as well as section playing.
