Pangaro Bass No. 2

Completed June 2023, Bass #2 is based on the same 7/8 size model as Bass #1.

Design Updates: For additional back rigidity, the flatback geometry has been updated to a continuous curve from the lower block to the neck block. The rib depth at the heel has been reduced to improve player access to thumb position. A removable neck design has been added for easier air travel.

Pangaro Bass No. 1

Completed June 2021, Bass #1 is a 7/8 size gamba model based loosely on a bass by William Tarr of Manchester, England, 1850.

The geometry and ergonomics of the instrument have been updated to modern standards, creating an extremely playable, large-bodied instrument well-suited to orchestral and jazz playing.

Status: SOLD. In use in the NY Metropolitan Opera since 2021.
